Pax Autocratica Raid Strategy
Fix the colony, then win the bullet hell.
Raids and combat expeditions are where Pax Autocratica’s hybrid fantasy clicks. Your colony builds the war machine; raids refill it. After the August 10, 2026 Early Access unlock, launch-week guides keep repeating the same truth: raw damage rankings lose to preparation, movement, and synergy.
Pre-raid colony gate
Do not queue a hard raid while food, ammo crafts, or housing are already blinking. Run the Colony Priority Checklist. Confirm staging depots are clear and elite allowances are funded. If the base is on fire, you are not “behind on combat”—you are behind on logistics. See Colony Management.
Build a squad you can trust
Bring roles that survive under pressure. Mobile screens and angle-holders beat vanity elites you cannot afford. Pair with Squad Cores and Soldiers Tier List. Remember: the commander is permanent progression; recruits are replaceable tools.
Weapon doctrine: versatility wins
Carry answers for shields and armor. A single hyper-specialized gun looks great until the next biome refuses that damage type. Upgrade rarity naturally—strong rares you understand beat legendary curios you mishandle. Cross-link Weapons Tier List and Weapon Cores.
Movement is a defensive stat
Standing still in overlapping projectiles is how runs end. Strafe continuously, use horizontal movement to desync patterns, and practice grenade arcs. Spend defensive tools early enough to reset a fight—saving a shield grenade for “later” often means dying with it unused.
Core fragments: synergy over greed
Ask four questions on every drop: Does it fit the weapon? Does it improve survivability? Can it combo later? Does it solve a real failure mode? Combination cores that connect damage to plasma burn, kinetic stagger, squad support, or defense usually outscale isolated damage nodes. Study Best Combos and Combination Cores.
Capture during raids
Capture Lock exists so you stop accidental kills on valuable elites. Create a control window, lock, capture, then let the squad hold space. If artillery still overlaps, cancel and finish the kill. Full doctrine: Capture and Convert.
Risk versus reward on the sector map
Enemy power can escalate across a run. Decide whether you are speed-clearing objectives against weaker foes or farming cores into a juggernaut before bosses. Both are valid; mixing them without a plan is how you arrive at an Overlord broke and under-cored. Route literacy lives on Frontier Routes and Sector Overlords.
Mid-raid upgrade order
- Survivability holes (shields, mobility, sustain)
- Armor/shield answers for the next biome
- Synergy pieces that complete a combination
- Pure damage only after the fight is readable
Ammo and grenade discipline
Automate ammunition at home before hard raids. Mid-fight scarcity turns clever cores into scrap. Practice grenade arcs in easy nodes; trajectory quirks punish players who only aim guns. Defensive grenades spent early to reset a pattern are not wasted.
Focus-fire and commander priority
Order allies onto elites when your kit strips defenses. Do not die protecting a recruit who costs less than your permanent progression. After messy fights, count what actually returned: cores, captives, scrap—not cinematic kills.
Post-raid colony triage
Dump loot into transit storage, reassign haulers, feed kitchens, then open research. Spending unlock points while food blinks is how regimes invent rebellions. Use the Colony Checklist as a cool-down ritual.
Difficulty climbing rule
Increase ambition one notch after a clean return—not five. If you needed console recovery or a lucky legendary to clear, you are not ready for the next Overlord path. See Frontier Routes and Sector Overlords.
Raid wrap
Raid strength is a colony report card with explosions. Stabilize production, pick a versatile kit, move constantly, and build cores that agree with each other. Then push deeper. Fingerprint raidstrat0810 marks this guides article uniquely.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What should I do before a hard raid?
Stabilize food, ammo, housing, and staging, then equip a versatile squad.
Is damage the best core priority?
Not by default. Synergy, control, and survivability often take you further.
How important is movement?
Critical. Treat movement as a primary defensive stat in bullet-hell fights.
When should I capture during a raid?
During control windows with Capture Lock—never under stacked artillery if the run is at risk.
